Majors and Programs

The Ohio State University at Mansfield offers students the advantage of completing many Ohio State academic programs in a small-campus setting with the resources of a world-class university.

Bachelor's Degrees Offered at Mansfield

Ohio State students may be able to complete the first one to three years of any of the 200+ majors on the Mansfield campus in a small, but world-class, campus setting. For example:

Engineering: Ohio State Mansfield offers the first full year of coursework towards an Ohio State degree in any of the 15 College of Engineering majors.

Health and Rehabilitation Sciences (HRS): Ohio State Mansfield offers the first two years of this degree, with the second two years completed entirely online.

Below are 12 Ohio State University majors that students can complete entirely at Mansfield. Alongside students from all campuses, Mansfield graduates receive their diploma from 'The Ohio State University' and celebrate at the Shoe.

*The first two years of the following Health Professions programs can also be completed at Mansfield: Health Information Management and Systems, Health Sciences, Medical Laboratory Science, Radiologic Science and Therapy and Respiratory Therapy. The remaining requirements for these degrees may be completed in-person at the Columbus campus.

**Primary education majors can also earn a certification in visual impairment instruction. Additionally, we offer a Dual Primary and Intervention Specialist degree.

Campus Change Minimum requirements

One-third of all Ohio State graduates start at a regional campus. The seamless campus change can occur after earning a minimum of 30 credit hours (earned after high school and excluding credit earned from testing, such as AP testing or foreign language testing) and at least a 2.0 cumulative GPA

Some academic units on the Columbus campus may have additional requirements, such as a higher cumulative GPA. Students who are undecided on a major or not yet eligible for selective admission for their intended major can make a campus change using the Exploration Program.

Pre-professional Preparation

Pre-professional programs are not majors; rather, they are pathways to follow, or areas of academic interest for students preparing for graduate school. In addition to declaring a pre-professional program, students must choose a major. Identifying a program will enable your Academic Advisor to provide you with support to accomplish your long-term goals.

Associate of Arts Degrees

The Associate of Arts degree is a nice option for someone who wants to earn a diploma to mark two years, or 60 credits, of successful college coursework. The Associate of Arts degree can be a stepping stone to a bachelor’s degree, or can be a stand-alone degree.

Minor Programs

Minors (typically 12-18 credit hours) are a secondary academic focus, adding depth to a student’s education. Students often complete one of these programs to complement their major and improve job marketability.

A full list of minors can be found on our Arts and Sciences website. Students can complete the requirements at the Mansfield campus for a minor in:
