If you are an Ohio resident, you may apply for admission to the Mansfield campus. If you have earned at least a 2.0 GPA (on a 4.0 scale) on your college course work, we will review your academic performance in college to determine your eligibility for admission.
Are you pursuing a degree at another college or university? Only apply as a transfer student if you will pursue a degree from Ohio State. Students currently enrolled at another post-secondary institution interested in transferring Ohio State credit back to their home institution should apply through the Office of Distance Education and eLearning.

Depending on the number of credit hours you are transferring and your desired major, the Mansfield campus may be a great option. Ten complete, four-year degree programs can be completed on the Mansfield campus.

Completing the personal statement is required for students whose academic records include interruptions in education. It is optional for others. Find the personal statement section under the “Program data” tab on the application.
Ohio State offers pre-professional programs in dentistry, law, medicine, optometry, pharmacy and veterinary medicine. Identifying your pre-professional interest on the application will enable your advisors to provide you with a wide range of support to realize your goals.
Before submitting your application, you will be asked for a NONREFUNDABLE $60 application fee. Ohio State accepts ACT, SAT and other fee waivers meant to assist low-income families. Students receiving the Pell Grant are also eligible for a fee waiver. To request a waiver, check the box in the Application Fee Waiver section of the application indicating the program for which you qualify. You will not be prompted to pay the application fee in order to submit the application. Send us appropriate documentation. Fee waiver requests will be verified by Undergraduate Admissions.
Supply your Social Security Number on your admission application if you plan to file the FAFSA and want Ohio State to receive it, or if you are the child of an Ohio State employee using the Dependent Tuition Assistance program.
These items plus your online admission application make up a complete application. Your academic record will be reviewed to determine your eligibility for admission to the university.
Request that all colleges or universities you’ve attended send your official transcript to Ohio State. Include a transcript of any college course work taken in high school. You do not need to provide a transcript for course work completed at Ohio State.
How to send your transcripts to Ohio State:
If this course work was completed at a school outside of the United States, note that foreign language documents must be translated into English by the issuing institution, an authorized translator or a teacher of the language. Any additional requirements will be posted to your Applicant Center, so be sure to check your application status regularly after you've applied.
If you have fewer than 30 semester (45 quarter) hours at the time of application, your high school transcript is required. Request that your high school send your official high school transcript to Ohio State, electronically if possible. Faxed transcripts are not accepted.
If you have taken either test, in the last two years, you must submit an official ACT or SAT score sent directly from the testing agency. Scores are not required from applicants who will have been out of high school for two or more years by their term of enrollment.

Course credit will transfer to Ohio State if the course was taken at a regionally accredited institution, the course was non-remedial, and you received a C- or better. In a few cases, a D or D+ may transfer; download Transfer Credit Policy and see page 7 for information.
In many cases, credit for equivalent courses is received when transfer credit is awarded. Visit transferology.com for details about the transferability of course credit to and from Ohio and regional institutions.
Ohio State offers credit for Advanced Placement (AP), College Level Examination Program (CLEP), International Baccalaureate (IB) and DSST Exams. Visit go.osu.edu/creditbyexam for more information.
Military transfer credit will be accepted according to the American Council on Education’s recommendation, as listed on the Joint Services Transcript. Individual colleges determine how this credit is applied. Get admissions information for veterans.
Within 1 to 5 days of applying, you will receive an email acknowledging receipt of your application. This email will include your OSU ID and Ohio State username (lastname.#).
Log in to your Applicant Center where you can monitor the status of your application. Check regularly to make sure you have no outstanding issues or anything left to do.

Admit: Congratulations, you have been admitted to Ohio State! A notice about enrollment requirements and information about specific college enrollment are on the way.
Deny: At this time, you do not meet our admission requirements. To be considered for another semester, you may remain at your current college or university and improve your academic record. If you are not currently enrolled, you may enroll at another college or university and improve your academic profile. In both cases, you will need to contact us to update your application for a future semester.
From now on, important business communications from Ohio State – like your housing contract, financial aid offer and orientation information – will be sent to the email address we’ve created just for you.

Pay this nonrefundable $100 fee when you receive your Acceptance Fee Statement, which you will generally receive via email within three weeks of admission to Ohio State.
Contact Undergraduate Admissions before the application deadline for your desired term to discuss your options.
If you submitted a transcript(s) from your previous institution(s) to be evaluated for transfer credit, you may have some action steps to take before orientation.
If you have completed courses that would not appear on the transcript your college(s) already sent to Ohio State, please request that a final electronic transcript be sent to Ohio State as soon as your grades have posted.
Orientation is held prior to the opening of each term and is required for all students.
You will receive an email invitation to register for New Student Orientation once it opens. Orientation registration opens based on the term you are admitted:
Autumn Admit: Mid-May
Spring Admit: Mid-October
Summer Admit: Mid-March

Note! On-campus housing for transfer students is not guaranteed and is dependent upon space availability. Priority, when space is available, is given to transfer students who graduated from high school within the last two years. Learn more about on-campus and off-campus housing at University Housing.
Students admitted for autumn semester: Housing information for autumn semester students is emailed to students’ Ohio State email accounts starting in mid-March, based on the date acceptance fees are paid.
Students admitted for spring or summer terms: Housing information is emailed after you have been admitted but no sooner than two months before the start of the desired term.
