How to Apply for Financial Aid

Step One: Apply for your Federal Student Aid ID.

The FSAID will allow you to sign your on-line FAFSA electronically.

For a dependent student both the student and one parent will need an FSAID.

Step Two: File FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) on-line

Priority Deadline for Ohio State Mansfield: February 15, 2024  DEADLINE EXTENDED to March 15, 2024

Within two to four weeks of submitting your FAFSA to the federal processor, the U.S. Department of Education will send you an electronic or paper Student Aid Report (SAR). The SAR contains important information for you to review. Read it carefully and follow-up on any missing or conflicting information.

When we receive your FAFSA record from the federal processor, we will send you an award notice via email. Please note: This process may take several weeks.

Step Three: View Financial Aid Package from Ohio State online at buckeyelink.osu.edu

  1. Enter username and password
  2. Select view financial aid
  3. Select academic year
