Highly ranked both nationally and in the state of Ohio, the Department of Teaching and Learning offers innovative programs for those seeking a license to begin a teaching career, those who seek to add an endorsement to their license or to deepen their research-based knowledge, and those seeking to become a researcher. Through the combination of a rigorous curriculum and a supportive social environment students become scholars who investigate issues of learning and teaching in classrooms, schools, families, and other communities.
Our B.S.Ed. program prepares teachers to work in a diversity of settings—urban, rural, as well as suburban—in either primary (grades Pre-K-5) or middle (grades 4-9) childhood education. Classroom teachers can work toward the requirements of the K-12 Reading Endorsement, the Middle Childhood Generalist, the P-6 Mathematics Endorsement, or the Early Childhood 4/5 Generalist Endorsement.
