Endorsements

The Department of Teaching and Learning at The Ohio State University at Mansfield offers four endorsement programs for teachers who hold a standard Ohio teaching certificate or license. Certified or licensed teachers seeking an endorsement will complete the required courses and the appropriate assessments in order to be recommended for licensure in one of the following areas.

If you would like to pursue an endorsement through the Department of Teaching and Learning, please review our Step-by-Step Guide and the Program Sheet for the endorsement you would like to complete. It is strongly recommended that you speak with an Academic Advisor prior to taking any courses towards an endorsement. To contact our Academic Advisor, Jeanne Mauriocourt, to set up an appointment.

Early Childhood Generalist

The Early Childhood Generalist Endorsement will allow teachers holding a standard Ohio license in PK-3 to add 4th and 5th grade in all subject areas. The addition of the Early Childhood Generalist Endorsement to an Early Childhood license provides teachers with additional teaching options, and facilitates the mobility of teachers into Ohio from other states. This endorsement cannot be added to any other teaching license.
