Important Dates for 2018 Elections:

  • July 9 - Ohio Special Election Voter Registration deadline
  • August 7 - Ohio Special Election, polls open 6:30am-7:30pm
  • October 9 - General Election Voter Registration deadline
  • October 10 - Absentee Voting by Mail begins
  • November 5 - Absentee Voting by Mail ends
  • November 6 - General Election, polls open 6:30am-7:30pm

Big Ten Voting Challenge

The Big Ten Voting Challenge will mobilize registration and turnout at all 14 Big Ten universities. The challenge runs through November 6, 2018. Trophies will be awarded to the university with the highest eligible voter turnout rate, and the school with the most improved voter turnout (compared to 2014 data). Participants at Mansfield and other regional campuses will count toward the overall Ohio State student voter turnout count!

To participate in the challenge, you can register to vote or update your voter registration by visiting By using TurboVote, you can register to vote, find your polling place, and subscribe to information about key dates and voting procedures for upcoming elections. Get an Absentee Ballot

Do you need an absentee ballot so that you can vote in your home precinct without traveling back? Visit this link to get your Absentee Ballot to vote by mail. Ohio State students can drop off their completed absentee ballot in the Business Office in Riedl Hall and we will mail them for you!
