The Ohio State University at Mansfield recognized student achievement April 3 during the Academic Awards Celebration. More than 30 students were recognized with scholarships, book awards, student research and writing projects.

“These awards are milestones along your much larger journey,” said Dawn Kitchen, associate dean at Ohio State Mansfield. “As Buckeyes, you represent a legacy of hard work, a community bound by many shared values and the determination to push through boundaries.”

Each student was individually honored on the stage of Riedl Hall, with awards presented by faculty in their area of study.

Scholarships

Mansfield Faculty-Staff Scholarship 
Award recognizes continuing students at Ohio State Mansfield chosen by a vote of faculty and staff as most outstanding in classroom performance. 
Recipient: Trinity Potts (Shelby), presented by Amy Brunell, professor of psychology

David M. Scott Memorial Scholarship 
Created in memory of David M. Scott, professor of physics, who taught on this campus from 1970 to 1986. Given to a student with high academic standing in science or engineering.

James R. McLeod Scholarship
Created in memory of James R. McLeod, associate professor of anthropology, who taught on this campus from 1986 to 1998. Given to a student who has displayed excellence in both academic work and community service.
