Ohio State Mansfield's Andrew Mueller Honored with Distinguished Staff Award
The Ohio State University presented Andrew Mueller, director of the Conard Learning Center, with a Distinguished Staff Award.
The Distinguished Staff Award is given annually to 12 individuals for outstanding achievements, leadership and dedication to The Ohio State University. The award also recognizes staff who have helped to provide significant solutions to problems in the Ohio State operations.
Mueller says he was surprised by the recognition. “I’ve seen others receive this recognition over the years, and it has always been something I hoped I could be a part of,” he said. “I love being a part of the Buckeye family and this is a highlight of my career.”
The Conard Learning Center provides supervised free tutoring services, study sessions and a writing center to Ohio State Mansfield. Mueller, became director of the Conard Learning Center in 2013, starting as a student employee. Under his leadership, the center has achieved thrived due to efforts to increase awareness and consultations with students. As a result, Ohio State Mansfield students using the Center’s services have seen increases in test scores and passing grades.
The Ohio State University at Mansfield Dean and Director Dr. Norman Jones said, “This is a well-deserved recognition for all that Andrew does for our students.”
Mueller was surprised with the announcement during a virtual celebration of Ohio State Mansfield’s annual day of celebration gathering of about 70 faculty and staff earlier in May.
“I was blown away by the award and everyone’s kind comments,” Mueller said. “It was such a great experience.”
Mueller appreciates the great relationships he’s been able to form with so many coworkers and students.
“With the many tasks we all have, I’ve been able to collaborate with so with so many people on different projects,” Mueller said. “It’s been a blessing to get to know people better through working together.”
Mueller was born and raised in Mansfield and attended Ohio State Mansfield. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Education and a Master of Education, both from Ohio State.
