New Student Orientation
Step 1: The Basics (Pre-Orientation)
- Pay your acceptance fee. See Take Your Next Steps for more information.
- Set up your BuckeyeMail account
Note: the university communicates important information through students’ Buckeyemail account only, so check your university email regularly.
Step 2: Register for Orientation
Register for Orientation by visiting your Applicant Center.
- Autumn Admit: Orientation registration opens in March.
- Spring Admit: Orientation registration opens in November.
Step 3: Find a Place to Live
Students who plan to live on campus must arrange for their housing as soon as possible. On-campus housing is limited and not guaranteed until a student signs a contract. Contracts will arrive in Buckeyemail accounts, so check frequently.
- Autumn Admit: Molyet Village contracts are available in March
- Spring Admit: Molyet Village contracts are available in October
Off-campus housing is available nearby at Buckeye Village Apartments
Step 4: Prepare for Orientation
- Access CarmenCanvas (our learning management system) to find helpful information, including detailed instructions for accessing your placement tests.
- Carmen course will be available in mid-April.
- Placement tests are available in early May.
- Complete your placement tests a least 5 business days before your scheduled Orientation session.
Note: students who have not completed their placement tests at least 5 days before their Orientation will not be able to receive a schedule at their Orientation session and will be scheduled with their advisor afterward.
Step 5: Attend Orientation!
For more details about what to expect, consult our CarmenCanvas Orientation resources.
