Homecoming Court

Court members are selected based on their leadership qualities, spirit, integrity, and achievement through their contributions and involvement at Ohio State. The Royalty selection process begins with an application. Based on application scores and GPA, individual interviews are offered and conducted by Ohio State faculty, staff, and alumni. The application and interview scores are combined with the student body vote, and the royalty is announced.

Royalty members then volunteer and serve as ambassadors during Welcome Week and Homecoming Week, prior to a student body vote and announcement of the Homecoming Royalty.

What does it mean to you to be a Buckeye? To me, being a Buckeye means being a part of a community that values hard work, determination, and excellence. Being a Buckeye is more than just a label or a title - it is a mindset and a way of life. It means striving for excellence in everything we do and pushing ourselves to be the best version of ourselves. As a Buckeye, we are challenged to push ourselves to new heights, to think creatively, and to lead by example. Being a Buckeye means being a part of something bigger than ourselves and working together to positively impact the world around us.

What does it mean to you to be a Buckeye? To me, being a Buckeye is not just one thing. In fact, it means a variety of things to me. Being a Buckeye means coming together to support one another in times of need and working hard toward whatever my passion is. I get the privilege of working alongside professors and students who will help me grow academically and personally. Here at Ohio State, I know many people care about me and want me to succeed. Knowing that I am a Buckeye and that I belong to a community helps give me purpose as I move toward my career. Regardless of where my journey takes me in the future, I can always look to my Buckeye family for support and guidance along the way. I am incredibly proud to be a part of this legacy. Go Bucks!

What does it mean to you to be a Buckeye?: If I may, I would love to be transparent with you. Being a buckeye here at Mansfield Campus has given me hope in my future and career. Hope that I never had before until attending our branch. It sounds very cliche and rehearsed, but it’s not. The way our staff, faculty, and professors not only show up, but go the extra mile for us students, is beyond belief. I was always told in high school it would be the last place I would be, surrounded by those rooting for me and wanting me to succeed. I’m happy to say they were very wrong.

With all this being said, being a Mansfield Buckeye means I will always have a family to come back to. I have grown in my academics, career, relationships, health, and mental health here. I have been taught hard lessons, but never alone because I am a buckeye. I’ll always be thankful I chose our campus.

Class rank (for fall 2023): Sophomore

Major(s) and minor(s):  Health Sciences

Campus involvement (past and present):  While, I was never in any groups on campus, I did attend a handful of events on campus and did my part in having a great time while also helping others have a great time.

What does it mean to you to be a Buckeye?: Being a Buckeye to me feels like being a part of a big family. Ohio State is more than just a school that I attend. Ohio State has helped me feel so welcomed inside of the classroom as well as outside of the classroom. Feeling like I belong, means a lot to me since I am a commuter living off campus. Sometimes being the new person coming in, can make you feel like you don't have as many connections to other people attending classes, but at Ohio State I've felt like I've belonged from the first day of school. At Ohio State it doesn't matter what religion, ethnicity, or background that I come from, becauseeveryone makes me feel as if I were theirfriend. Not only the student population, but also the staff, make you feel like you have an army behindyou if something's not working out for you. Being a buckeye is something that has changed my life for the better because of the amount of support and care that I have received from everybody here.
