About this event

On Tuesday, December 9th (11:10am-12:30pm in Ovalwood 120), my Psychology 4520 students will be presenting the results of their semester-long research projects in poster format. In Psych 4520, students work in small groups to design and conduct studies related to a chosen social psychological topic.

Basic summaries of their research questions are as follows:
(Group 1) Do people respond differently from positive feedback provided by a human reviewer as opposed to an AI reviewer?

(Group 2) Does exposure to a fictional anime character increase attraction to similar personality types in a dating context?

(Group 3) Does level of a suspect's racial phenotypicality (high vs. low) influence responses to individuals detained by ICE?

(Group 4) Does exposure to a fast-paced video with quick cuts impact attention and memory in a subsequent comprehension task?

The students worked very hard on their projects, and they are excited to talk about their work and to get your feedback. So please stop by anytime between 11:10am and 12:30pm, even if only for a few minutes. The students will be standing by their poster presentations and will walk you through their projects and answer your questions regardless of when you show up. I know that many people have classes during this time, so if you are free to stop by, PLEASE DO!
