Donna Farland-Smith

Assistant Professor

Dr. Farland-Smith earned her Ed. D. in Science and Mathematics Education from The University of Massachusetts-Lowell in 2003. She has ten years teaching experience in which she has taught every grade science K-12.  She has written and published books that inspire teachers to help children understand and appreciate scientists and their work. Her book series about this work, Eureka, was published by the National Science Teachers Association (NSTA) in 2018. She has published numerous articles on research that focuses on students’ perceptions and attitudes toward science and scientists. Dr. Farland-Smith is a surrogate parent and is interested in Special Education. In 2011 she founded The Little Buckeye Children's Museum, an interactive play space in downtown Mansfield, OH.
