Ohio State Mansfield wants you to start your college career on the right track. Research shows that laying a strong foundation during your first year of college is key to your success.
Our First Year Experience (FYE) programs will help you build that foundation. You will have opportunities to get to know your peers, connect with the campus community, and experience being a Buckeye!

Our First Year Experience programs are designed to help incoming students take advantage of campus opportunities during their first year. Our programs begin the summer before autumn semester and continue throughout the school year.
Your First Week
Convocation and Dean's Picnic
The official welcome for new students. The day before autumn courses begin, all new students gather in Founders Auditorium to begin their college career together as Buckeyes. Students hear from current students, the Dean, and other faculty and staff. The Dean's Picnic directly follows the Convocation. Students mix, mingle and eat with their fellow classmates and members of the campus community.
