Auditions for 1776 consist of readings from the script, 16 measures of a song (we provide an accompanist; you provide the sheet music or your own non-vocal track and a device on which to play it) - no a cappella singing. For a few roles perhaps there will be a short movement sequence, but it is not a dance-heavy show.

It's the summer of 1776, and the nation is ready to declare independence... if only our founding fathers can agree to do it! 1776 follows John Adams, Benjamin Franklin, and Thomas Jefferson as they attempt to convince the members of the Second Continental Congress to vote for independence and sign the Declaration. 1776 is a funny, insightful and compelling drama with a striking score and legendary book.
