About the Artist: Mantra Das

Mantra Das — self-proclaimed beatnik and lifelong guitar devotee— serves as Program Coordinator for the Community Guitar Workshop at The Ohio State University at Mansfield. With over 30 years of playing experience, Mantra is dedicated to passing the torch of 20th-century rock, folk, and blues to the next generation through collaborative jamming, songwriting, and community-building.

He has performed at several of Columbus, Ohio’s most iconic venues, including Little Brothers, Rumba Café, and Comfest, bringing a deep-rooted, authentic approach to live music and grassroots performance culture.

On June 24, Mantra will lead a (completely free) all-levels guitar workshop at the Richland Academy of the Arts, focusing on writing original songs and crafting guitar riffs inspired by 1990s rock.

No prior experience is required, and instruments will be available for those who need them.

In addition, Mantra is hosting a Community Folk Jam at Mansfield’s North End Farmers Market on the following dates:
June 18; July 9, 16, 23, 30; August 13, 20; September 10, 17, and 24.
