The Distinguished Staff Award is given annually to twelve individuals for their outstanding achievements, leadership and dedication to The Ohio State University. The award also recognizes staff who have helped to provide significant solutions to problems in the OSU operations.

Donna says she is humbled by the recognition, “It is a real honor! The award acknowledges all of the hard work by the Student Life staff and the faculty/staff on the entire Mansfield campus.”

Donna has served as the Chief Student Life and Retention Officer for the last 12 years at The Ohio State University at Mansfield. Before her tenure at Ohio State Mansfield, she worked in various roles at the University of Georgia, the University of South Carolina, and several campuses of the University of North Carolina system.

In the ten months I’ve been at the Mansfield campus, she [has] taught me so much about serving our unique student population. She also taught [me] what it means to work on a team of dedicated professionals with the best interest of the students at heart.”

“Donna is always reminding people why it is that we are here at Ohio State Mansfield. We are here for the students, and Donna is the representation of that on an everyday basis,” Dr. Gavazzi said. “Everything Donna does revolves around making the students’ experience a better experience.”
