Gallery Reception for "Bureau of Visual Instruction"

Join us for the opening reception for the Pearl Conard Art Gallery exhibition, ​Bureau of Visual Instruction.​ Artist Meggan Gould's work examines the practice of photographing and in the lives of photographs as objects. She is currently an assistant professor at the University of New Mexico. The exhibition runs from Monday, October 2 through Thursday, October 19.

Study/Education Abroad: Getting Started

​The Mansfield Education/Study Abroad Liaison, Tiffany Pierskalla, will be visiting the Mansfield campus to present two workshops on "Getting Started." These sessions will help you explore the basics of education abroad. you will learn more about how to select the program that's right for you, how to finance your education abroad including information on travel grants for Mansfield campus students of up to $1,200, and how to navigate the application process,and more. Interested students need only attend one of the sessions.

Staged Reading of Margaret Edson's "Wit"

Wednesday, October 18, 6:00 pm, 151 Riedl Hall (Conard Performance Hall) By special arrangement with Dramatists Play Service, the Ohio State Mansfield Theatre Department is pleased to present Wit. Vivian Bearing, Ph.D., a renowned professor of English who has spent years studying and teaching the brilliant and difficult metaphysical sonnets of John Donne, has been diagnosed with terminal ovarian cancer. Her approach to the study of Donne: aggressively probing, intensely rational. But during the course of her illness—and her stint as a prize patient in an experimental chemotherapy program at a major teaching hospital—Vivian comes to reassess her life and her work with a profundity and humor that are transformative both for her and the audience.

Domestic Violence Awareness Month Candlelight Vigil

Best Buddies Inclusion Walk/Run

​The Best Buddies chapter at Ohio State Mansfield/NC State invite you to an Inclusion Walk/run with all proceeds to benefit the local Best Buddies chapter. ​Best Buddies is an active community service club connecting college students with individuals with developmental disabilities. Registration is $10 per person or $30 per family. Free t-shirts guaranteed for registrations received by October 2nd. Registration will begin at 9:00 am, with the walk/run beginning at 10:00 am. Trunk or Treat

Children ages 12 and under dressed in costume and accompanied by an adult are welcome to join us for a kid-friendly event. There will activity tables and lots of goodies to be shared by student organizations, staff and faculty of both NC State and Ohio State Mansfield. Some social service and public service agencies will also be present to share the fun. Past and present activities: face painting, balloon artists, duck pond, arts and crafts, a firetruck, a race car, photo booth and more. No need to bring a collection bag, as one will be provided. This event is organized by the Mansfield Social Work Student Association.

Join us for this story of creation, love, hate, adventure, and most of all, sex; the story begins in Denton, Ohio as Brad Majors and Janet Weiss, after getting engaged, travel to see the man who began it, but wind up at the castle of Dr. Frank-N-Furter, a transvestite alien from the planet Transsexual in the galaxy of Transylvania. Participants are invited to dress in costume and bring their own props for the show, with the exception of liquids, rice, and confetti. Concessions will be available for purchase.
