Cheerleading is an Autumn and Spring semester sport at North Central State College and The Ohio State University at Mansfield. They cheer for all of our home basketball games and participate in parades and community events that benefit our teams and colleges. They help us advertise our program and help enhance school spirit throughout campus.
Head Coach - Amanda Bryant
Amanda Bryant is the Mavericks Head Cheer Coach. The 2016-2017 season will be her 4th season in the position. She attended Ohio Dominican University in Columbus, Ohio and cheered for the Panthers for two seasons before coming back to Mansfield to complete her degree in business administration. She has coached for several All-Star teams including: the Lexington Storm, the Spirit Ohio All-Stars, and at her alma matter St. Peter’s High School. Amanda has also judged major regional and national cheer competitions and completed training through Cheerleaders of America (COA). Amanda loves that The Ohio State University and North Central State College give her the opportunity through coaching to share the benefits of participating in collegiate sports while pursuing a college education close to home. “My goal is to uphold the integrity of the sport of cheerleading by instilling strong leadership skills in my athletes, and pride in their campus.” said Coach Bryant.
Amanda is currently the Administrative Assistant for TRIO Student Support Services at North Central State College.
Amanda is a graduate of St. Peter’s High School and currently resides in Mansfield with her fiancé Walter and children Chase and Katherine.
