SMART Learning Community
SMART stands for Students Making a Realistic Transition.
SMART is a learning community for first-year students that offers support and guidance to help students have an academically successful first year in college. Students also develop a valuable network of friends and mentors. In other words, the students and faculty in SMART become your family on campus and provide you with the support you need to navigate that first year. First generation students and students of color are encouraged to apply.
Students in SMART participate in program-facilitated activities, meet with an academic success coordinator a minimum of two times a semester, meet with an academic advisor a minimum of two times a semester, enroll in four required courses together with other students from SMART and visit the Conard Learning Center bi-weekly during spring semester.
