Build your Ohio State community here.
As a first-year college student, you might be asking yourself, can I handle college coursework? Will I fit in? What’s there to do? Will I find new friends? For Ohio State students attending the Mansfield campus, these questions are a bit easier to answer. That’s because students can become part of the Buckeye Learning Community.
The community helps students set a clear path for academic success, make friends that will last a lifetime, and find faculty mentors, support staff, and resources.
As a member of the Buckeye Learning Community, you’ll become part of a tight-knit community of students, mentors, faculty and staff. You’ll have access to learning resources and educational and social activities designed to help you succeed academically — and have fun. It’s a community that, in many ways, serves as your own academic family: Every member has your back.
We’re here to help you succeed.
Open and free to all first-year students, the Buckeye Learning Community features:
You’ll have dedicated time with an academic success coordinator and an academic advisor at least two times a semester.
You’ll regularly visit the Conard Learning Center, including bi-weekly during fall semester.
You’ll have access to tutoring, group study and other help, with an emphasis on the essentials of mathematics, statistics and writing.
A tight-knit community.
You’ll experience program-facilitated activities — everything from movie nights to educational field trips to welcome dinners with faculty.
