I don’t think of myself as the typical college student. After finishing a 20 year career in the United States Army, I decided to further my education here at the Ohio State Mansfield since it is close to home.
And now after three years, I continue to make educational strides, and at the same time I have stayed actively involved on campus. In my spare time, I stay active by participating in intramural sports like flag football. As a non-traditional student, a father of three and a part time employee, I love to get out there with the young students to show them I can still play the game.
In addition to intramural sports, I am also the President of the Student Veterans of America, a 2012 Homecoming Court Member, and a newly hired Junior Admissions Counselor.
One of my favorite memories here on campus was when I was selected to the Homecoming Court. David Yoder [the former King] came into my class and announced I had been selected onto the court, I was really excited because I was selected by my peers here on campus, and it meant a lot.
While attending Ohio State, I want to do as much as I can and stay as actively involved as possible for the university. By attending Ohio State Mansfield, I have found a place to better support my community and reach my educational goals without relocating.
