Dear Ohio State Mansfield Colleagues,

The beginning of June is upon us, which means the end of Spring Quarter is close at hand. And of course, this also means the end of the quarter system at The Ohio State University. Our campus is as ready as we can be for the transition into semesters. We have updated documents concerning our Pattern of Administration (POA) and our Appointments, Promotions, and Tenure (APT) policies, and our Fall Semester schedule is posted. We remain cautiously optimistic that we have foreseen all of our biggest stumbling blocks, while remaining vigilent for those hazards lying unseen below the surface.

To rejoice and give thanks for our achievements throughout the 2011-2012 academic year, we will hold our second annual Day of Celebration next Friday, June 8th. We will begin with a lunch and awards ceremony at 12:15 p.m. in the Student Union, and conclude with an evening reception at Professor Dawn Kitchen’s home. A great deal of work has gone into our campus being in a state of high preparedness for what is to come, and there are many thanks to be given for the efforts undertaken by many individuals on our campus. I look forward to toasting our accomplishments with you then!

The beginning of June also marks the end of my biweekly reports for the year. I wish all of you the happiest of summers, and I look forward to marking the start of Autumn Semester 2012 with you in August. Please mark your calendars now for the State of the Campus address at 10:00 a.m. in Riedl 151 on Tuesday, August 21st, and our Convocation ceremony at noon in Founder’s Auditorium, followed by the Dean’s Picnic at 1:00 p.m. in the Student Union.
