An Invitation to Learning
Ohio residents age 60 or older are invited to enrich their lives by experiencing the academic excellence at The Ohio State University at Mansfield. Each year, area residents take advantage of this tuition-free, noncredit/non-degree program to connect to the university community. Program 60 students attend undergraduate, graduate-level, and distance learning courses through Program 60 on a SPACE AVAILABLE BASIS. Enjoy the experience of learning just for fun! P60 provides an excellent opportunity for you to remain engaged in intellectual activity with people of all ages. Your life experiences will add much to classroom discussions. And, the Mansfield campus is beautifully inviting every season of the year!
Accounting to Zoology
You may enroll in areas ranging from accounting or art history to philosophy, psychology or zoology. In history, for example, there are classes on Western and Eastern Civilizations, the Americas, the ancient Mediterranean, medieval history, and other areas as well. Political science and sociology will help you to see your society and government in a new light. Some courses are more difficult to get into than others. Art courses often do not have available spaces and laboratory courses are sometimes closed. Do not hesitate to try something new!
Learning for Fun
There are no required assignments for Program 60 students. You do not take exams or write papers unless you would like to do so. We do, however, encourage you to participate in class discussions. Books might not be required for every class. Some instructors may select textbooks after classes are in session. You are not required to purchase books, but if you do, please review all return policies.
NOTE: If the course has a course/lab fee, you are required to pay that fee.
