Description	Christian origins and expansion to 600 A.D.; conflict with Roman Empire; internal dissent; basic institutions; Christian intellectuals; the imperial established church; monasticism; papacy; the barbarians and Christianity. Prereq: 5 cr hrs of History and Jr or Sr standing, or permission of instructor. Not open to students with credit for 570.
