This Week's News and Events for
A memorial service will be held on Monday, May 19 at 7 p.m. in Browning Amphitheatre to remember the OSU students who died during this school year. The service will celebrate the lives of those who died and reflect on our community’s loss in their passing. The annual nondenominational service is cosponsored by the University Interfaith Association and the Student Advocacy Center. All members of the Ohio State community, as well as family and friends of the deceased, are welcome. Rainsite is the Prior Health Sciences Library, 376 W. 10 th Avenue, 5 th floor. Top OSU-M Students Saluted at Annual Event On April 29, four OSU Mansfield students were recognized at the annual President's Salute to Undergraduate Academic Achievement at the Fawcett Center in Columbus.Colleges select students for this event according to a combination of factors including grade point average, research and scholarly accomplishments, and unique academic contributions.Each honored student is able to invite one faculty or staff member who has been a special inspiration. The honorees from the Mansfield campus this year were Kari Dudte (psychology), Misti Rapp (business), Laura Jalbrzikowski (education), and Christopher Brown (English).The faculty and staff members accompanying the students were Terri Fisher, Bill Bauer, Jeane Copenhaver-Johnson, and Norman Jones. Flick Fest II the event will be held in Founders Auditorium, Friday, May 23rd.will begin at 7:00 p.m.This event is totally free and open to the public.It showcases independent films made by local regional filmmakers.Submissions are due by May 2nd and for more information go to www.flickfestosu.com.

During Finals, June 2-13, the Campus Bookstore will be hosting a Carnival for the students What: Frank Basham Book Signing at the Campus Bookstore When: Wednesday, May 28, 2008 11am – 2pm Frank Basham, author of Bucket of Strangers, winner of many awards for writing several poems will be at the Campus Bookstore on Wednesday, May 28 from 11am to 2pm. He attended High School in Dayton, Ohio and attended Sinclair College and OSU. He has awards for his poems: Crosswalk, Amelia, Suspended, Rise and Shine and Doomsayer. Please make plans to visit the store on Wednesday. Rollerblades and Skateboards Policy Rollerblades and skateboards may be used as transportation on walks throughout campus, if used courteously, respecting the right of way of pedestrians. They may also be used for recreation in parking lot #8 and on the bike path, except when motorcycle classes or other approved activities are being conducted.
