Learning Support Services
The Conard Learning Center
Designed to provide a dynamic learning environment, the Conard Learning Center offers students the opportunity to maximize academic performance. The Center offers two floors of resources, services, computers, study rooms, and classrooms. The first floor of the Conard Learning Center houses the Math Lab, and Disability Services. There are computer labs, study rooms, classrooms and distance learning classrooms located on the second floor.
The Math Lab promotes each student's success in mathematics through discussion, group study, and individualized assistance. Operated on a walk‑in basis, the lab is staffed with qualified assistants who help students with math‑related questions. Individual appointments for math assistance can be made at the reception desk.
This service enables students with disabilities to work with qualified staff to maximize performance and develop independence. The OSU Mansfield campus encourages those with a disability to utilize available services to maximize their educational potential. Some of the accommodations provided to students include test accommodations, access to textbooks on tape, access to class notes, priority scheduling, academic and disability awareness, access to adaptive equipment, interpreters, and disability parking. For additional information, contact the Learning Disabilities Specialist.
The Writing Center
Writing consultants are available to read drafts of student work, help with revising and editing, and offer computer assistance. Consultation is also available for faculty to help with scholarly work or to help construct writing assignments.
