Course Objectives: Students learn to observe and respond to visual phenomena using the facility of free-hand drawing.

Course Content: Students spend class time working on projects and assignments designed to facilitate and improve approaches to representational drawing. Subject matter includes the still life, landscape and perspective drawing, portraiture and figurative study.

Method of Presentation: Material is introduced through lectures, discussions and demonstrations.

Method of Evaluation: A portfolio of class drawings is due at mid-term and at the end of the quarter. At mid-term, there will be an individual portfolio review, and a progress evaluation.
