Course Objectives: The principle focus of this course is drawing from life. Students review methods of observing and responding to visual phenomena through free hand drawing in an effort to beccome more thoroughly familiar with the living forms of plants, animals and people.

Course Content: The primary subject for the class is the human form. Students will work with the human figure routinely, but will also draw animals, plants and landscape studies.

Method of Presentation: Material is introduced through lectures, discussions and demonstrations.

Method of Evaluation: A portfolio of class drawings is due at mid-term and at the end of the quarter. At mid-term, there will be an individual portfolio review, and a progress evaluation.
