Course Objectives: By observing in two local schools, students will reflect on the diversity in today's classrooms, the characteristics of effective schools, classrooms, and teachers, and the aspects of effective teaching as prescribed in the nineteen Praxis III assessment criteria.
Course Content: Field visits: 25 to 30 hours in each of two schools. A 1-2 hour weekly seminar on campus which reviews the Praxis III domains, textbook readings and activities.
Method of Presentation: lecture, whole group and small group discussions, in-class activities,
Method of Evaluation: completion of field hours, weekly reading and writing assignments, completion of four Praxis domain booklets, final reflective exam
