Course Objectives: In this course, we will study and practice the techniques of business and professional writing, focusing on the style, organization, and conventions appropriate to workplace communication. Although the exact kinds of writing you will do at work will depend on the industry in which you work, the organization (business or non-profit) for which you work, and your position within that organization, we can begin to identify some of the principles of writing for professional audiences. This course will pursue the following objectives: 1. To practice producing common workplace genres 2. To practice analyzing and responding effectively to the situations in which business and professional writing is produced 3. To practice the processes of developing and transmitting effective workplace communication

Course Content: Memo, resume, collaborative presentation, report and presentation
