Choose Ohio First Scholarship
The Ohio State University regional campuses are proud to announce the Choose
Ohio First Scholarship opportunity. Each campus has the privilege to award a
select number of Middle Childhood Education majors (with a concentration in
science) a $2,000 Choose Ohio First Scholarship.
The Choose Ohio First Scholarships are funded by the State of Ohio with the
objective of increasing the number of science, technology, engineering and math
graduates and retaining them in jobs within the Buckeye state. The scholarship is
renewable based on eligibility requirements.
Eligibility requirements include:
• Completed a minimum of 90 credit hours by Autumn 2009.
• Be a Middle Childhood Education major on a regional campus of Ohio State.
• Have a science concentration.
• Complete a minimum of 4 required science courses, two of which must be lab sciences.
• Maintain a cumulative 3.00 GPA or higher in all science courses.
• Have financial need.
• Complete application and essay responses.

Students must meet the minimum value in both GPA and test scores to receive a
scholarship
*Incorporates $2400 per year University Scholar Award (in state tuition only).
**1st in class automatically receive a minimum scholarship of $2500, regardless of ACT scores. 1st in class can receive higher based on ACT scores. Example: A student who finished 4th in a class of 100 with a 26 ACT would receive 9 points for ranking above the 95% of their class, and 7 points for their ACT score. The total of 16 points would give that student a scholarship of $2700. RENEWABLE if enrolled at Mansfield Campus and maintain at least a 2.7 GPA

Fran Rupp Christian Mansfield Campus Scholarship
Renewable financial assistance awarded to non-traditional age women who are returning to school after interrupting their education. Preference is given to mothers working outside the home. Amount varies; financial need is considered.

Copperweld Corporation Shelby Division Scholarship
Renewable scholarships up to $1,000 each year awarded to new students based on high school class rank and ACT scores. Preference is given to students from Shelby City Schools.

Joseph C. Dutton Leadership Scholarship
One-time $1,000 scholarships awarded to one new and one continuing student each year. Awards are based on leadership activities in high school or OSU Mansfield, and require letter of recommendation from high school or college counselor or teacher.

Galion Community Scholarship
Renewable scholarships from $900 to $1,500 each year awarded to new students from Galion City Schools, determined in conjunction with district guidance counselors. Preference given to students who by virtue of high school class rank and ACT scores may not qualify for OSU Mansfield Academic Scholar Awards.

S. Wynn and Marion B. Goodman Scholarships for the Arts
Up to one-half tuition scholarships awarded once to new and continuing students with outstanding talent in writing, theater, art, or music, as determined by a faculty panel.

Philip H. And Rhoda W. Gregory Scholarship
Renewable scholarships of up to $1,200 each year awarded to new students who have completed a strong high school mathematics program including four years of college prepatory mathematics, and are pursuing a math or math-related major.

John S. Jordan Scholarship
Renewable scholarships from $600 to $1,000 each year awarded to new and continuing minority students, with preference given to African-Americans. Awards are based on academic and leadership potential as demonstrated by high school records and OSU Mansfield consultation with community leaders.

James R. McLeod Scholarship
One-time $1,000 scholarships for continuing students who have displayed excellence in both academic work and community service, as determined by OSU Mansfield Honors Committee.

Candidates are mailed notification of their eligibility by the financial aid office.
Mohican-Loudonville Area Scholarship
Renewable scholarships from $900 to $1,500 each year awarded to new students from Loudonville High School, determined in conjunction with district guidance counselors. Preference given to students who by virtue of high school class rank and ACT scores may not qualify for OSU Mansfield Academic Scholar Awards.

OSU Alumni Club of Richland County Scholarship
Renewable full tuition scholarships awarded to new students graduating from a Richland County high school. Awards are made by OSU Alumni Club of Richland County, based on high school grades, ACT scores, application questionnaire, and personal interview with club scholarship committee.

Faculty/Staff Merit Scholarship
One-time scholarships of up to $1,200 for continuing students based on merit, as determined by Admissions and Scholarship Committee with input from OSU Mansfield faculty and staff.

Richland Bank Scholarship
Renewable scholarships from $1,000 to $1,500 each year awarded to new and continuing students pursuing a business- or finance-related major. Awards are based on high school class rank and ACT scores for new students, and current GPA for continuing students.

OSU-Mansfield Travel Grants
Awarded to students participating in Study Abroad Programs sponsored by Ohio State, for students attending professional/academic conferences or meetings, or school-related travel programs. Awards provide for one-half of travel costs, to a maximum of $1000 per year.

Travel Grant Application
Undergraduate Research Grants
Undergraduate research can be an important and rewarding part of a university education. To encourage undergraduate students to undertake research projects, the Ohio State University at Mansfield makes available to eligible students Undergraduate Research Grants of up to $500. Such grants may be used for supplies, equipment, and travel (not including conference travel, for which Student Travel Grants are available).
